Heat stress control by means of WBGT (wet-bulb globe temperature) measurement
The wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) is a measure of environmental heat as it affects humans. Unlike a simple temperature measurement, WBGT accounts for all four major environmental heat factors: air temperature, humidity, radiant heat (from sunlight or sources such as furnaces) and air movement (wind or ventilation). The formula to calculate this derived is integrated within Sensori.
The WBGT is used as a guideline for the workload of for example athletes and military who are exposed to that current WBGT value. This was also recognized by the management of the government agency who covers the safety within a region. They facilitate e.g. the known emergency services and the firefighters in their special fire retardant suits in particular.
The government agency installed 4 WBGT systems divided over their region. The fire chief always carries a tablet equipped with wireless 4G/5G communication with amongst others detailed maps of the various buildings and the materials used, as well as a Sensori Dashboard.
The Sensori Dashboard shows a WBGT dependent Tile - based on traffic light colours - including maximum allowed working time, rest time and recommended drinking water quantity.
